This dynamic training programme is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world engineering practice by equipping students with practical, industry-relevant skills.
Preparations for the 80th RILEM Week are gaining momentum, with the Organising Committee scheduled to meet on 24 February 2026 to advance planning discussions. The prestigious international event will take place from 5–12 September 2026.

On Friday, 20 February 2026, the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering hosted a highly engaging industry expert presentation delivered by Mr. James Ciira, Products and Specifications Manager at SIKA Ltd. The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Eng. Paul Kioko and attracted strong participation from both students and staff.
The University has announced a two-week closure following the successful completion of end-of-semester examinations. The examinations were conducted over a two-week period and officially concluded on 30 January 2026.
The temporary closure is part of the University’s academic calendar and allows for examination processing, administrative activities, and preparation for the next academic session. During this period, normal teaching and learning activities will be on recess.

The collaboration, now in its final stages of formalisation, focuses on pioneering the use of biochar in civil engineering applications — particularly in low-carbon concrete and sustainable construction technologies.

As part of their Fourth Term field visits, third-year students from the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, University of Nairobi visited the Sondu Miriu Hydropower Plant, gaining valuable insight into real-world hydropower generation and infrastructure systems.
