Dr. Simeon Dulo from the Department was named as number two lecture at the Faculty of Engineering during the Awards of Excellence ceremony held at UoN’s Taifa Hall on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022.Dr Dulo was the former chairman at the Department. On Thursday, 24th February 2022, the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering reached 50 ongoing research projects at the postgraduate level. The research projects range from Structural, Material, Water Resources, Environmental, Public Health, Soils and Highways Engineering. The research projects are supervised by staff of the Department.

The Association of Civil Engineerings Students made three proposal on their future activities. The Chairperson, Quincy Wamono made three proposals:

The department has received 40 bags from Bamburi Cement Ltd. Bamburi Cement has provided 25 bags of 32.5 cement and 15 bags of 42.5 cement to assist students in their research projects. Eng. Collie Goro, a lecturer of the department facilitated the donation and delivery of the bags of cement at the Large Structures Laboratory.

The current and past four chairmen of the department met on 4th February 2022 during the Civil Engineering Welfare.

The second semester will begin on Monday, 7th February 2022. Blended learning will continue, however, staff and students have been encouraged to conduct physical classes where practical while observing the Ministry of Health Covid-19 Guidelines.
