STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF DIVERSION OF ATHI RIVER DURING BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION

Negligence of contractors on diversion and pollution of our rivers during construction of bridges degrades our rivers both quality wise and flow wise. Our natural ecosystems should be handled with care and left unaltered or minimize the alterations where need is required especially rivers. This is because the river is a home to several species and residents of the area depend on the water for domestic use and irrigation of their crops (maize and kales). Use of polluted water can cause diseases in both the crops and human beings.
