Performance Evaluation of Langata Road Capacity And Level of Service Study

Langata road runs across densely populated areas such as Langata. It also serves residents of Ngong and especially Rongai as it is the main route used to access the Central Business District which serves as the main economic hub of the city; hence has a large number of traffic users. This leads to traffic congestion on the road hence a reduction in its performance. The Kenyan list states “Langata Road and traffic jams are synonymous.” We will investigate to see if the road has surpassed its design capacity according to the Highway Capacity Manual (2016).

STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF DIVERSION OF ATHI RIVER DURING BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION

Negligence of contractors on diversion and pollution of our rivers during construction of bridges degrades our rivers both quality wise and flow wise. Our natural ecosystems should be handled with care and left unaltered or minimize the alterations where need is required especially rivers. This is because the river is a home to several species and residents of the area depend on the water for domestic use and irrigation of their crops (maize and kales). Use of polluted water can cause diseases in both the crops and human beings.
