The morning visit on 29th August 2023 was marked by the presence of distinguished individuals from both Aleco and Prokon, alongside key figures from the department. The Chairman of the department, Dr. Osano, and Prof. Mumenya, along with Eng. Muthomi and Mr. Ochieng from the University of Nairobi, welcomed the representatives, setting the stage for productive discussions.
Third year students of the academic year 2022/2023 who are on their fourth term program visited Kenol , Sagana- Marua highway which is undergoing dualling. During the visit the students got an exposure on stages involved in road construction. the visit was conducted by Aryee consulting engineers and Chinese contractors on site
Friday, 9th June 2023 marked a momentous occasion as the Engineering Students Association (ESA) organized a spectacular farewell dinner at the prestigious Weston Hotel in Langatta. The event brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to honor the outstanding leadership and achievements of ESA and bid farewell to its departing members.

Eng. Mellesse Yimam, a PhD student at the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, University of Nairobi, recently showcased his groundbreaking research at the prestigious Nairobi Innovation Week. His presentation focused on an innovative application of concrete technology, leveraging particle packing technology and admixtures to develop an eco-friendly concrete solution. Eng. Yimam's pioneering work represents a significant step towards sustainable construction practices and garnered attention from experts and industry professionals.

Goro, an esteemed member of the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, accompanied by a group of enthusiastic civil engineering students, embarked on an insightful visit to Apex Steel Ltd. on Friday, 19th May 2023. This educational excursion provided an invaluable opportunity for students to gain practical knowledge and firsthand experience in the steel industry.
Mr. Charles Odira Maxwell, a dedicated Tutorial Fellow at the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, recently had the opportunity to enhance his professional skills by attending a prestigious short course on Water Infrastructure Asset Management. The course was conducted at the esteemed IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in The Netherlands from 1st to 12th May 2023.
