Eng. Jane Mutulili holds Mentorship Session with Engineering Students

Eng. Jane Mutulili held a mentorship session with engineering students. Kenneth Sawe and Beatrice Ndaisi from the Alumni Affairs Office organised the mentorship talk with the students from the Faculty of Engineering. Jeff Anduvate, an alumnus of the university and a former chairperson of the Engineering Students Association (ESA) moderated the session.

UoN Alumni Affairs in collaboration with the Department visited Geothermal Development Company (GDC) at their headquarters in Kawi House on Friday, 8th April 2022. The UoN Alumni Affairs was represented by Kenneth Sawe and Beatrice Ndaisi. Jeff Anduvate, a UoN alumnus and a former ESA chairperson represented the alumni. Muthomi Munyua represented the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering. 

DR. DULO BECOMES NUMBER TWO LECTURER AT THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UON

Dr. Simeon Dulo from the Department was named as number two lecture at the Faculty of Engineering during the Awards of Excellence ceremony held  at UoN’s Taifa Hall on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022.Dr Dulo was the former chairman at the Department. The Department of Civil & Construction Engineering Reaches a Milestone of 50 Ongoing Postgraduate Research Projects

On Thursday, 24th February 2022, the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering reached 50 ongoing research projects at the postgraduate level. The research projects range from Structural, Material, Water Resources, Environmental, Public Health, Soils and Highways Engineering. The research projects are supervised by staff of the Department.

Association of Civil Engineering Students chart the way forward

The Association of Civil Engineerings Students made three proposal on their future activities. The Chairperson, Quincy Wamono made three proposals: 

  1. A Computer Aided Drawing and Design Training. 
  2. Mentorship of ACES students by alumni. 
  3. Corporate Social Responsibility by assisting construction in schools around the University. 

He was flanked by Nimrod and Makena, officials of ACES during the presentation. 

Department receives Cement for Research from Bamburi Cement Company

The department has received 40 bags from Bamburi Cement Ltd. Bamburi Cement has provided 25 bags of 32.5 cement and 15 bags of 42.5 cement to assist students in their research projects. Eng. Collie Goro, a lecturer of the department facilitated the donation and delivery of the bags of cement at the Large Structures Laboratory.
