A multi-storey car park is a specialized structure that is designed to efficiently accommodate and organize a projected number of vehicles within a confined urban or commercial space. The parking space is provided on the floor levels where each parking space is clearly marked. The structure can either be a reinforced concrete structure or a steel structure. In this project the construction material chosen is steel. This type of car park utilizes steel as the primary construction material for its structural framework. This is because steel offers advantages of high strength, flexibility in design, and a favorable strength-to-weight ratio, allowing for the creation of a space-efficient, robust and cost-effective parking solutions. These solutions include column free parking spaces as steel is ideal for long spans. Steel also reduces the foundation requirements due to its light weight. Lastly a steel structure enables fast construction and the area that the structure is being installed can remain operational during construction.
