The Department of Civil & Construction Engineering is proud to announce that one of our staff members, Eng. Muthomi Munyua, has recently been registered as a Professional Engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya.

Eng. Muthomi has been a valuable member of our department for the last four years, and his registration as a Professional Engineer is a testament to his dedication and hard work in the field of civil engineering. This achievement is particularly significant because the Engineers Act of 2011 requires that engineers meet rigorous education, experience, and professionalism standards before being granted registration.

Eng. Muthomi's path to becoming a Professional Engineer began with his undergraduate studies in civil engineering at the University of Nairobi. After graduating, he worked as a civil engineer for several years, gaining valuable experience in structural engineering and design. He then pursued a master's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), further deepening his knowledge and skills in the field.

In addition to his academic and professional qualifications, Eng. Muthomi has also demonstrated a commitment to ethical and responsible engineering practices. He is a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya and has actively contributed to developing engineering standards and codes of practice.

As a Professional Engineer, Eng. Muthomi is now authorised to offer engineering services to the public and take responsibility for the safety and welfare of the community. This authorisation includes designing and supervising construction projects, conducting feasibility studies, and providing expert advice on engineering.

The Department congratulate Eng. Muthomi on this significant achievement and are proud to have him as a member of our department. We look forward to his continued contributions to the field of civil and construction engineering, as well as his mentorship of our students who aspire to become Professional Engineers themselves.
