Friday, 9th June 2023 marked a momentous occasion as the Engineering Students Association (ESA) organized a spectacular farewell dinner at the prestigious Weston Hotel in Langatta. The event brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to honor the outstanding leadership and achievements of ESA and bid farewell to its departing members.

Led by the dynamic and visionary Civil Engineering student, the Chairman of ESA, the students' leadership body comprised Churchill Ouma (Chairman), Linda Lichuma, Brian Clendon, and Amani Kabare, all hailing from our esteemed Department of Civil & Construction Engineering. Their relentless dedication and exemplary service to the student community have left an indelible mark on the department and the university as a whole.

The Department of Civil & Construction Engineering takes immense pride in commending these exceptional students for their remarkable contributions to ESA. Their unwavering commitment, passion, and innovative ideas have propelled ESA to new heights, organizing a myriad of events and initiatives that have enriched the academic and social lives of engineering students.

The farewell dinner served as a platform to express gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding efforts of the departing ESA members. Eng. Muthomi Munyua, representing the department's chairman, Dr. Simpson Osano, lauded the departing members for their exceptional leadership and acknowledged their significant impact on the student community.

The event was graced by esteemed guests from the engineering industry, including Eng. Margaret Ogai, the Registrar of the Engineers' Board of Kenya. Eng. Ogai's presence highlighted the importance of fostering strong ties between academia and industry, inspiring the students with her words of wisdom and encouragement.

Eng. Ayiro, representing NAS International Group of Companies, renowned for their expertise in Intelligent Transport Systems, shared invaluable insights on the future of engineering and the transformative potential of technological advancements in the transportation sector. Eng. Grant Rugarama, from Timcon Associates, a prominent traffic engineering consultancy based in Nairobi and Canada, also graced the occasion and offered his congratulations and support to the departing ESA members.

The Department of Civil & Construction Engineering extends its sincere appreciation to ESA for organizing such a memorable event and recognizes the exceptional contributions of the departing members.
