On 18 May 2026, the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), invites engineers and construction professionals to participate in an important survey on Concrete Acceptance Criteria in Kenya.

The survey seeks to gather insights on current industry practices relating to concrete specification and acceptance criteria. Participants will have an opportunity to contribute to a better understanding of how concrete is specified and assessed across the Kenyan construction industry.

 

Key Questions Being Explored

The survey addresses important questions such as:

• Have you encountered concrete designations such as Class 25/20, C30, or C32/40?
• What are the differences between these specifications?
• What standards are currently used for concrete specification in Kenya?
• What criteria do practitioners use in concrete acceptance decisions?

Who Should Participate?

The survey is open to:

• Accredited Checkers
• Consulting Engineers
• Professional Engineers
• Graduate Engineers

Benefits of Participation

Participants will receive:

✅ 2 Professional Development Units (PDUs) towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

The questionnaire takes approximately 25 minutes to complete and your responses will contribute to documenting current construction practices and informing future industry discussions.
