The Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, University of Nairobi, is pleased to congratulate Dr. Simpson Osano, Chairman of the Department, on his election as the Chairperson of the Kenya Geotechnical Society (KGS) for the 2026–2028 term.

The newly elected board was officially announced by the Kenya Geotechnical Society, bringing together distinguished professionals committed to advancing geotechnical engineering practice, research, and professional development in Kenya.

Dr. Osano’s election to this prestigious leadership position reflects his continued contribution to engineering education, research, and professional practice within the geotechnical engineering field.

The Department is also proud to note that Eng. Christine Nzai, a Master’s student in the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering who is expected to graduate in September 2026, was elected as a member of the new KGS board.

Her appointment highlights the growing role of young professionals and postgraduate researchers in shaping the future of geotechnical engineering in Kenya.
