Scope of Repairs:

The repair project encompasses a wide range of tasks aimed at addressing various issues within the laboratory. This includes:

  1. Structural Rehabilitation: Structural elements such as beams, columns, and flooring will be assessed and repaired as needed to ensure they meet safety standards and provide a stable foundation for laboratory activities.

  2. Equipment Maintenance: Machinery, tools, and equipment used in laboratory experiments will undergo thorough inspection and maintenance to ensure they are in proper working condition.

  3. Interior Refurbishment: The interior space of the laboratory will be refurbished to create a clean, organised, and conducive learning environment for students and instructors alike.

  4. Safety Upgrades: Safety measures, such as the installation of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and safety signage, will be reviewed and enhanced to prioritise the well-being of laboratory users.

Commitment to Excellence:

The repair project underscores the department's unwavering commitment to providing students with a high-quality educational experience that prepares them for success in their future careers. By investing in the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory facilities, we demonstrate our dedication to fostering excellence and innovation in civil engineering education.

Minimising Disruption:

While repairs are underway, every effort will be made to minimise disruption to ongoing academic activities. Alternative arrangements will be put in place to ensure that students continue to have access to the resources and facilities they need to excel in their studies.

Looking Ahead:

As repairs progress, we look forward to unveiling a revitalised Timber and Model Structures laboratory that meets the evolving needs of our students and faculty. Through ongoing investment in our facilities and infrastructure, we remain committed to providing a world-class education that empowers the next generation of civil engineers to make a positive impact on society.
