A tour was organised by the University of Nairobi for staff from the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering to visit Zenith Steel Fabricators at their factory in Isinya, Kajiado County. Members who attended were Eng. Maimba, Eng. Matheri, Eng. Mburu, Eng. Nancy and Eng. Muthomi. The tour was led by Mohid Moez, an alumni of the Department. Zenith Steel is eager to take up students for their fourth-year attachments and internships. Zenith Steel handles about 40 000 metric tonnes of steel annually. The company has invested in state-of-the-art machinery for automation and has become an industry leader in the Eastern Africa region.
