Site investigation with respect to design of offshore structures and site selection stress strain behaviour of rocks and soils under marine environment.  Dynamic analysis and design of offshore structure with particular reference to wind and wave action.  Pile design and offshore piling practice.  Gravity structures, their installation and other problems including instrumentation.  Design and construction of cofferdams and caissons in the area.


Analysis and design of wells and Caissons, their stability considerations and  constructional practices.


Principles of design of foundations for transmission towers, chimneys, water tanks and antenna towers.  Soil reactions and stability considerations.


Design principles of shell and folded plate foundations, existing theories and their limitation, introduction to dam foundations.
